The need for sustainable development has never been more necessary than today. The environment has become increasingly fragile due to more than a century of neglect and lack of awareness of the effects of development on the environment.

RITSEC's Environmental Information Technology Solutions (EITS) Project provides the tools, techniques and services needed to assist in sustainable development projects; promotes the use of information technology in environmental studies; and provides assistance in management and implementation of environmental programs and projects. EITS develops geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies for environmental projects, provides consulting and training, and creates projects to raise awareness of the need for environmental protection. In addition, the EITS project focuses on using the Internet in environmental programs and developing applications for organizations, tailored specifically to their needs.
