The Little Horus website was launched in June 1997 by H.E. Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak. The website provides a platform that promotes cultural exchange between Egyptian children and children from around the world. The website is bilingual and contains more than 400 pages of information covering Egypt's 7,000 years of civilization. The information includes current economic, cultural, and sociological data on Egypt. The website provides an opportunity for children to interact with one another thought the "Little Horus Club," display their artwork in the "World of Kids" museum, play games, and join contests, among other educational and recreational activities.

Little Horus has been an outstanding success, receiving international recognition and awards and promoting exchanges with children from countries around the world. By the year 2000, the number of hits on the website exceeded 30 million, with over 1,500 visitors a day. The site content is used as reference materials for 6th grade students in schools throughout the United States. Website material has been translated into local languages, including Icelandic, for use as educational tools. The website was also cited in Cyberspace School for Kids, published in the United States, and in Bill Gates' white paper, "Empowerment 2001: Government Technology for the 21st Century" (January 1998). In Australia, Little Horus has been published on a CD-ROM and distributed to more than 17,000 schools. The website has received numerous national and international awards.
