Communication And Networking
The Communications & Networking Program is mainly concerned with the growing area of communications, networking and Interconnectivity. Its activities are multidisciplinary covering technical support, product development, information and Internet services, and capacity building, and human resource development. These activities are carried out at the National (local), Regional and International levels. The Communication & Networking Program capitalizes on its contacts with the international entities for its growth and expansion.

Strategic alliances
Sourcing knowledge and expertise from around the globe, RITSEC has aliened with international organizations having a leading edge in the communication & networking domain to implement programs. Through the Communication & Networking Program, RITSEC has effectively engaged into strategic alliance with AT&T to cover all the technical and business activities related to establishing the info-infrastructure for delivering quality products and services.
Jointly RITSEC and AT&T Solutions will engage in developing a business case for creating a joint venture to deliver and operate the products and services of the Information Highway at the national, regional and global levels. The main product to be generated out of the alliance is an information platform that enables the Egyptian and regional industries to interact and conduct business transaction. With Advanced Computer Communication (ACC), Communication & Networking Program formed an alliance to develop broad cooperative ventures in technology transfer, product development, value-added marketing and worldwide distribution of RITSEC-ACC products. Products development were primarily in the area of internetworking, which is the interconnection of LANs over WANs using industry standard protocols. The alliance also aims at licensing RITSEC certain software development tools and hardware designs in order to create a productive software development environment in Egypt.
Regional Information Highway
The Regional Information Highway is part of the Global Information Infrastructure. It covers two main areas, communication and networking as well as the infrastructure part. The Information Highway covers several areas like: Trade, Environment, Cultureware and Health Information Highway, and is implemented in terms of value added services in cooperation with other SBUs. The basic communication and infrastructure part is implemented by the Program in cooperation with the national PTT and value added service providers in the region. The basic services include the establishment of the switching and routing facilities as well as the establishment of digital connectivity backbones with terrestrial and wireless solutions. The wireless solutions include the establishment of VSAT services in the region via the Intelsat and building digital connectivity using digital multiplexes, frame relays and ATM switches.
